1995 Devil’s Thumb Expedition
Set in the remote Stikine region of Alaska, three climbers adventured more than 25 miles up a remote glacier to attempt this hidden gem, which is noted as a 50 Classic of North America
1995 Silverthrone Expedition
Three climbers trekked across the tundra from the north side of Denali to climb Mt. Sliverthrone and Mt. Brooks, two remote peaks in Denali National Park.
1996 Ritt Kellogg Memorial Climb
Three climbers dedicated their rapid 7-day ascent of Mt. Foraker to Ritt Kellogg, where his accident occurred in 1993.
1997 Sea Kayaking the Inside Passage
Three sea kayakers paddled more than a hundred miles through Alaska’s Inside Passage.
1998 Cirque of the Unclimbables
Two climbers spent two weeks climbing sheer granite faces in a remote region of Western Canada.
1999 Little Switzerland
Four female climbers ventured up glaciers in Denali National Park to tackle alpine granite spires.
2000 Pack Rafting in the Brooks Range
Four adventurers traversed the Brooks Range, covering more than 300 miles on foot and floating in inflatable pack rafts.
2001 Dreaming of Denali
Two sisters ascended Denali, North America’s highest mountain.
2002 ANWR Backpacking
Four preservation-minded adventurers backpacked for two weeks through the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, site of much oil drilling controversy.
2003 Slick Rock Adventure
Two dessert rats spent more than three weeks canyoneering in remote areas of Utah.

Students with limited wilderness experience have used the grant to fine tune their outdoor skills through the Ritt Kellogg Fund technical training courses or by applying for an educational grant.
